Book a call

Hi! I'm Joy.

My passion is to help as many individuals with dyslexia as I can!!!

However, after growing our little business to about 15 tutors and 50 students, I decided I didn't want to keep getting bigger and bigger and bigger. So, here's how I can help more students without getting bigger myself:

I had this crazy idea to let other tutors who also have their own business watch some of our business operations! My sincere HOPE is that the things you learn by being with us help you to be a more confident, knowledgeable, successful business owner, which in turn will allow you to help even more students.

I can't WAIT to meet YOU!!! Join our amazing community of like-minded educators today!

Which business "stage" are you in?

Stage One: The Teacher/Tutor

You have been teaching or tutoring one or two students, or maybe just your own child or grandchild. And now you want to try this as a business! Congratulations! We are here to help!

OR maybe you are a classroom teacher who wants to venture into a new opportunity and start your own business but have no idea where to start!

Here’s some of the things you can join in on that will help!

  • Watch actual tutors working one-on-one with a student! Learn tips and tricks!
  • Listen in on calls when a parent calls our center for the first time. Hear how we explain dyslexia and Orton-Gillingham/structured literacy concepts!
  • Join in on some of our staff meetings and get valuable training!
  • And much more! You are welcome to join in at any time to ANY of the events!

Stage Two: The Business Owner

You have been tutoring students on the side while also being a classroom teacher or interventionist, OR you have been tutoring students through your own business, and things are going well! Awesome! You are helping so many students, and we are here to help you do that even more successfully!

In addition to the items listed in Stage One, here’s some additional things you might want to join in on!

  • Listen in on calls with adults who want to be tested and/or tutored, so you can expand your business to begin working with adults!
  • Get scripts that you can follow when taking a phone call for your business
  • Get checklists that you can fill out to determine if this student is fitting under the profile of dyslexia
  • And much more! You are welcome to join in at any time to ANY of the events!

Stage Three: The Advanced Practitioner

You have been tutoring students for several years now. You know quite a bit about dyslexia, Orton-Gillingham/structured literacy, and you pride yourself on staying up to date with the latest research.

In addition to the items listed in Stage One and Two, here’s some additional things you might want to join in on!

  • Listen in on calls regarding unique situations, such as when a student has autism, or if a student was adopted, and learn what to say and what not to say to parents.
  • Watch as I meet with a parent whose child we just assessed. See how I describe things like percentiles and benchmarks. Learn about the assessments we use during the testing process.
  • Get templates to use with your students to check progress.
  • Get progress meeting templates to use with your families.
  • And much more! You are welcome to join in at any time to ANY of the events!

Stage Four: The Entrepreneur

Congratulations and THANK YOU for the difference you are making for students with dyslexia! You have a successful track record over several years or more of helping children and adults. You may have been doing this on your own, and now you want to expand and add staff. Or you may want to streamline your business practices to make life easier and run more smoothly!

In addition to the items listed in Stages One through Three, here’s some additional things you might want to join in on!

  • Get templates that you can customize to help you switch to a tuition model, with tips on how to charge a fair price.
  • Get over 50 email templates that you can customize to send to parents, including snow day policies, how to word it when you raise your prices, how to help them get set up on Zoom for tutoring, and more!
  • Get templates for when you interview a potential employee.
  • Watch as we train new employees and get the accompanying documents we use during this training that YOU can also use with your staff!
  • Get templates for employee contracts and independent contractor agreements, and learn which type of staff is the best fit for your situation.
  • Watch tutoring and see how we are modifying an Orton-Gillingham program (Barton) while still keeping all the important OG components! Learn how we are seeing student success in half the time that we used to! Parents are thrilled and so are we!
  • And much more! You are welcome to join in at any time to ANY of the events!
